The single most important fact about Hajj from the United States: since Saudi Arabia centralized Hajj for Muslims from Western countries, the only legal way for a US pilgrim to book Hajj is through Nusuk Hajj — the official platform of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. No travel agency can sell you a Hajj package directly. Anyone who asks you to pay for Hajj outside your own Nusuk account is putting your money and your pilgrimage at risk.

Step 1 — Create your Nusuk account early

Registration for each Hajj season typically opens several months before the season (for Hajj 2027, expect the window in late 2026 — we'll update this guide when dates are announced). Create your account as soon as registration opens: you'll need a valid passport (with at least 6 months validity beyond your travel dates), a recent photo meeting the platform's specifications, and personal details exactly matching your passport.

Step 2 — Verify your eligibility and documents

The platform verifies your identity and residency. US-based pilgrims register under the "Muslims from non-Muslim-majority countries" track. Common document mistakes that delay applications: name mismatches between forms and passport, expired passports, and low-quality photo uploads. Step 3 — Compare and select a package
